Summary

Derived from a box for laser cutter. I wanted a parameteric version for various material sizes. Could be used for any general purpose box

There are some variables at the top of the file that control the thickness of material you want to use. and the INTERNAL dimentions you desire. In theory the model should then adjust appropriately to set all the tab holes/notches etc to the appropriate sizes for your material.

It should also ensure the spacing of the parts is enough for my cnc router to use a 3mm cutter. the spacing is proportional to the material thickness. Obviously the parent of this object was done on a laser cutter where spacing was less of an issue.

In this example I also have the mounting holes / pintout slots and usb/power cut outs for putting an aduino uno inside. However it should be easy to comment out those and add other details for whatever other purpose you want this kind of box for.

I've tried it set at 3mm which is the shown box image. That version didn't have quite enough support for the corner holes, so in this version of the scad file I've added a little more boarder to allow the holes to be better supported.
At 3mm I also needed to use a craft knife to clean up the internal corners where the diameter of the bit was significant to the detail of the box.

I will try it at 4mm and update.
