Point Rodding Stools
A quartet of point rodding stools for use on a model railway. These are approximately double-size, so should be scaled to 50% when printing. I have personally found that 66% gives a more readable result. These are designed for 4mm scale but can be adjusted up or down as required. The following dimensions refer to 4mm/ft:
Standard point rodding should be with 0.3mm round rod (i.e. nickel silver), but with my 66% versions I have used 0.45mm and found it more reasily readable at a distance (one of the four rods in the cover photo is 0.45mm, the rest are 0.3mm)
Point rodding roller stools should be set approximately 32mm apart on straights and 24mm apart on curves, 9mm away from the rail. For the sake of easy fitting I have created a shoulder and tab which you can insert between sleepers on a piece of standard Peco Bullhead track to give the correct distance away from the rail and roughly the correct spacing.
The bases can be printed at 66% without a brim if neccesary.
