3d Printable Ghost Gun

3dprinted ghost guns have been big news lately, so I decided to make one too.

This is a conceptual piece made in response to the fear mongering going on in regard to 3d printers having the potential to produce dangerous items. While there is some validity to the fact that some weapon parts can be 3d printed, the same parts could be produced out of other materials at home by people with a small amount of skill and everyday tools. Many of the most vital functional parts would need to be purchased from actual manufacturers. The push to regulate/ban 3d printers due to them presenting a danger to society is ridiculous, and would just take away a really useful and neat tool many of us have come to rely on to solve everyday problems, as a good tool can do. It is an empty argument pushed by news media because fear gets views. It's perpetuated by people who don't fully understand how the tech works or what it really does. This piece visually represents the argument that 3d printers are dangerous. They're made to look scary through speculation of what they could do, but underneath that it's really a hollow and empty argument. Plus it's a pun.

---THIS IS NOT A FUNCTIONAL (OR ANY KIND OF) FIREARM---

In fact there is no gun, fake or otherwise, it's a hollow 3d printable "cloth" ghost of a gun.

Supports recommended, but it CAN be done with minimal supports. I printed the model shown with standard supports for 75 degrees or greater, which only generated supports under the very bottom folds at the base. It printed fine, but that was at 0.1mm layer height which in my experience handles bridging better. If you're printing larger layers you may need more supports.

If you print it, pictures are appreciated.
