Tesla turbine, fully 3d printed | updated on 8/20/25

  • kinda work in progress -> I am still working on this and upgrading it with tweaks, but every version works properly.
-a bladeless turbine made by Nikola Tesla in 1913
-fully 3d printed model, requires glue for cover (I like to use hot glue)

-You need to print the disc approx. 12 times.
-should be easy to assemble
-works with water
-added a shaft cover with LEGO axle (print separately)

Assembly (after printing every part) :

  1. Put 12 discs in the same direction and the "pin" side up on the shaft's axle.
  2. Put the shaft's ring (in the same .stl) on, try not to snap it off, it needs to be pressed hard.
  3. Place the axle with discs in the casing, flip over, and put the shaft's cover on (in the same .stl).
  4. Lastly, put the turbine cover on, so the shaft ring goes in the hole in the centre.

Due to printer inaccuracy, you may need more/less discs.
