1/56th Scale (28mm) 17th Century Spanish Gun Emplacement, Cannons, Gun Crew, and Gabions.
I needed a 17th Century Spanish Gun emplacement, some proper Spanish Cannons, and the crews to fire them, to defend their peaceful town against those nasty Pyrates...
After printing (in FDM) and painting the Gun Emplacement, I added basing (ground coconut fiber) and static grass to make it look more realistic.
Up to about 1650, the Spanish used a two wheeled gun carriage, so that is what I sculpted, and a four wheeled one for later period.
When painting the Gun Crew Captains (the ones with the linstock to light the cannon fuse) be very careful, the linstock is very thin, and will break off easily.
I've also included some gabions, and the gun platform for anyone that wants to make their own Gun Emplacement. Gabions were and early period version of sandbags...
“A battery of sixteen cannon surrounded by several gabions, or earth-filled wicker cylinders.”

The minis are sculpted on 17.8mm bases, and once they are painted and basing material added, the 20mm Base Ring is glued on. You can paint the base rings different colors for quick identification of the different units during a game.
