Summary

A laceable boot-shaped planter for real or fake plants! The design was based on the boot in Wall-E.

You can plant directly into this pot, or keep the nursery pot. The regular size holds a nursery pot 50mm in diameter and 60mm tall. There are holes in the bottom of the planter (adjustable with the .f3z) if you choose to plant it directly.

Included is a footprint saucer that matches the actual boot's print. (Not a tight fit to prevent sticking from drainage)

Printing

Supports are necessary for the bottom of the boot. Only bed support is required on Cura, not 'everywhere.'
Supports are not needed for the lace holes.
I chose 2 walls and 0.55 line width to speed up the print and use less filament.

Infill: 15-20%

Customizing and Making Changes

Use the .f3z file to make changes and customize the model how you like! (Unfortunately, I did not use any variables for this design)

Adding Laces

Needed:
Shoelace (Can be bought at a dollar store)
Heat shrink tubing (tape will work as an alternative)
Superglue (helpful, but may not be necessary)
Fishing line (helpful, but may not be necessary)

Start by cutting off the ends of the shoelace, allowing it to be threaded in the tight radius bends. (A small drop of superglue on the ends may be helpful)
Begin at the bottom two rings and center the lace once both sides are through.
I threaded the laces using fishing line, making a tight knot around the lace and pulling it through.
Cross over the laces, creating the x pattern, and continue up the boot.
Put a piece of heat shrink tubing on both sides of the lace, where you want them to end. This should be a close fit so the tubing shrinks tightly.
Cut off the end of the heat shrink tubing and lace.
I added a drop of superglue for good measure.
