Overhanging Wall Angle Tests [Cura 5.10 Overhang]
This test printjobs that you can click together in different angles are designed by one of our Cura team members to illustrate the newly introduced settings. You can print the angles you want to experiment with or you can print them all at once. There is also a small fisher you can place on top of your finished printjobs so it can catch some fish off the cliff.
- Overhanging Wall Angle Walls that overhang more than this angle will be printed using overhanging wall settings. When the value is 90, no walls will be treated as overhanging. Overhang that gets supported by support will not be treated as overhang either. Furthermore, any line that's less than half overhanging will also not be treated as overhang.
- Overhanging Wall Speeds Overhanging walls will be printed at a percentage of their normal print speed. You can specify multiple values, so that even more overhanging walls will be printed even slower, e.g. by setting [75, 50, 25]
- Minimum Layer Time with Overhang The minimum time spent in a layer that contains overhanging extrusions. This forces the printer to slow down, to at least spend the time set here in one layer. This allows the printed material to cool down properly before printing the next layer. Layers may still take shorter than the minimal layer time if Lift Head is disabled and if the Minimum Speed would otherwise be violated.
- Minimum Overhang Segment Length When trying to apply the minimum layer time specific for overhanging layers, it will be applied only if at least one consecutive overhanging extrusion move is longer than this value
Current available angles
- 10° So an overhanging angle of 80°
- 20° So an overhanging angle of 70°
- 30° So an overhanging angle of 60°
- 40° So an overhanging angle of 50°
- 50° So an overhanging angle of 40°
- 60° So an overhanging angle of 30°
- 70° So an overhanging angle of 20°
- 80 So an overhanging angle of 10°
