Bluetooth GPS for Car
This is a case for a sub $50 bluetooth GPS that should work with any android app that supports NMEA protocols, commonly used for lap timing in cars/motorcycles. I designed the case for this and gave input on the wiring for my friend, who gets credit for setting everything up. You can get more details about it and him (aidandj) at the forum thread link posted below.
Confirmed to work with the following Android apps:
Harry's Lap Timer

This is an ongoing design and will change a bit. Plans include changing the design to have acrylic plates on both sides and alternate plates that support adding suction cup mounts to keep the box in place.
Update 3/9/15: Adding files for suction cup mounting. These are the suction cups that were used:

Also changed the design to v2 for the bottom, which replaces the 3d printed bottom with a laser cut plate, allowing you to choose which side is oriented "up" using the suction cup mount.
Update 3/17/2015: There is now a test video of the GPS working in a Mazda Miata (you can see it by the rear view mirror).
