1/2" EMT Linear Bearing for T8 LED Light Bracket
I was looking for a sliding light setup for over my workbench that was affordable and DIY. This was inspired by professional overhead camera/light gantry systems.
This is a linear bearing for 1/2" EMT conduit that allows for a 4mm thread heat set insert to attach the metal clips that come with the T8 shop/grow lights. I'm using a 8 foot light with the brackets 4 feet apart. The bearing is slightly oversized to allow for minor imperfections or bends in the conduit. I printed it in PETG at 0.3mm layer height with a 0.6mm nozzle on a Bambu P1S.
I used https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:151258 as the bracket to mount the conduit to the ceiling. I screwed one side of each bracket into a stud with drywall screws and the opposite side into the drywall using drywall hangers. It feels very sturdy and secure.
The lights I'm using are similar to these; https://www.amazon.com/Barrina-8500LM-Daylight-Output-Linkable/dp/B07RKZFD5Z?cv_ct_cx=barrina%2Bled%2Bshop%2Blight%2Bt8&s=hi&sbo=Tc8eqSFhUl4VwMzbE4fw%2Fw%3D%3D&sr=1-2-baa1f287-65d3-41a3-a655-8bbba0531537-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9zZWFyY2hfdGhlbWF0aWM
As long as they have the stamped sheet metal brackets that screw through the center, they should work.
