Yet Another IKEA LACK Enclosure (for Ender 3 S1 + drying rack for Photon Mono X2)

A case for an Ender 3 S1 made out of 2 IKEA LACK coffee tables and some acrylic sheets.

Parts you'll need:

Tools you'll need:

  • Drill and drill bits
  • Mitre saw/box
  • Hammer
  • Spanner
  • Screwdriver

Instructions

  • Assemble one of the IKEA tables.
  • Attach the legs of the other IKEA to the top of the other IKEA table.
  • Attach the 2 tables together (glue, screw etc, I screwed them together)
  • Measured and cut the quadrants for each side to size using the mitre box. You'll need 8 pieces each for the sides and back (inside and outside), and 4 pieces for the front (inside).
  • Hammer in the outer quadrants so they run along the seams of the table. You might find it helpful to have the acrylic pieces inside the case at this point.
  • Secure the acrylic sheets to the case by hammering in the inner quadrants.
  • Use silicone to seal up any holes.
  • Fit the hinge to the front acrylic piece and attach to the case using some screws.
  • Attach the magnetic cupboard clip to the case. Drill 2 holes out in the acrylic for the magnetic strip. Attach the door handle to one of the bolts.
  • Hammer in the inner quadrants for the front door.
  • Attach seals to the front door quadrants and the door.
  • Attach any fume extractors to the rear acrylic panel. Use seals to seal the fans properly to the case.
  • Done!
