Quadrature Output Mod for Fischertechnik Encodermotor
These parts can be used to equip an old Fischertechnik Encoder Motor (135484) with an additional quadrature Output.
This motor does not have a bulge on the rear side.
Dat sheet of the motor is here: :https://ftcommunity.de/knowhow/bauteildaten/motoren/ft135484_neu.pdf
Fischertechnic Encoder Motors are geared motors and have a single magnetic encoder output.
In order to drive these motors with PID controllers the encoder impulses must not be lost.
To achieve this an additional quadrature signal is needed which has a phase delay of ~90 deg.
The mod has two 3D parts:
1) an inner disk with mount for a TLE 4905L digital magnetic sensor
2) an outer part which can be plugged onto the PCB and which has a hole for the inner disk.
The innter disk with the magnetic sensor can be rotated to adjust the phase of the additional signal.
The power supply wires for the sensor are soldered at the bottom side of the pin head connectors. For the additional signal a wire is fed through the hole for the connector.
The advantage is that this is a minimal invasive modification.
By dissoldering the power wires and removing the sensor assembly the motor can be reverted back into its original state.
Features of the sensor assembly:
- adjustable sensor holder disk to directly plug in a TL9505
- mounting assembly with distance and mointing legs that snap into the holes of the encoder PCB
- legs with recess for sensor and power supply wires
- there are two versions of the inner disc: inner2.stl has a 4mm hexagonal hole for adjustment with an hex wrench
