Replacement base for Motion Lamp

This is a replacement base for Motion Lamps and compatible with Lava brand jars. THIS BASE WILL NOT TOLARATE THE HEAT OF THE ORIGIINAL BULBS and these are only for alternative jar fills. Do not add an incandescent bulb to these bases.

There are three files included:

First option:
Hollow base with ~3MM walls and has a pre-drilled port for a power jack. (This was designed to accompany Radioshack Part number 274-1563 or 274-1576 which was a threaded panel mount DC coaxial power jack. If you can still scare one up, the threads will cut in to the plastic to help secure it. No support needed.

Second Option:
One to print the base hollow with ~3MM walls WITHOUT the power port. Ideal for unpowered lamps or drilling your own power hole.

Third Option:
Solid base. I originally designed this to print in vase-mode but found the default walls were WAY too flimsy.

Printing:
The default scale will fit a 9.5” Lava brand jar. If you have a 11” jar you may have to play with settings. I tried scaling the print uniformly to 185mm for an 11” jar and it was too big and awkwardly thick. If you are trying to fit an 11 inch jar, I would try vase mode IF you can adjust the wall thickness with your slicer or scaling to 180mm. If you scale up, you may need to sand or heat a tapered edge to the top of the print so the wall thickness isn't as jarring.

Print at ~80% density. The neck of the print is a weak point and can break under the weight of the lamp if there is not enough infill.

Wiring: Use LED lights. I used one foot of a flexible LED strip glued to the top part of the lamp base. Keep the amperage of your power supply low. Mine is running 100ma.
