British Speedometer Drive Cap
This is a cap to cover the speedometer output drive on British Sports car transmissions.
The thread size is 3/4" x 26TPI
This is used when cable driven speedometers are deleted (typically when a GPS based speedometer is installed).
Print in a strong plastic (ABS or better) in fine resolution mode (0.1-0.12 layer height).
Beware that the threads are fine. But I was able to get satisfactory result on a FDM printer. If you desire more precision you might want to try a UV resin printer.
a 3/4" O-ring can be dropped inside for additional sealing. But I doubt it would leak as is.
I am marking this as a work in progress until someone else comments on a successful print. I had good success with a Triumph GT6 w/J type OD and printing in ASA in Cura's "fine" mode.
Fit may ultimately be determined by your 3d printer's calibration. You might have to scale it a few percent in the X and Y axis to get a better fit As is, the threaded portion is scaled out about 2 percent to provide decent thread clearance.
