Wire Guide w/ Clamp - Smaller Versions
What a great design !
The original part was too big for my needs so I did some non-uniform scales to reduce it down to two additional sizes. Also, I made one change to the sketch profile for the flexible arm to make it less rigid and made the arm slightly thinner to provide more clearance between the side walls as my printer wasn't accurate enough to maintain the small distance and the arm wouldn't move. Finally, I removed the features that allowed you to connect individual guides together to make it easier to print.
I printed the parts with the surface with the large hole on the bed of the printer without supports. I also printed a small cooling tower next to it as the final top of the flex arm was so small it didn't have time to cool off and formed a blob.
Can take quite a bit of pressure to pop the flexible arm loose but it works well after exercising it a bit to free things up. Hint: Wait until the part has cooled down before breaking the arm loose !
Still easily holds a #18 gage wire.
