Model Rocket Launch Pad

This is a bracket that can be used to create a launch pad for model rockets. By removing the top bolts, the launch pad can be easily folded. Note the options for a 1/8 or a 3/16 inch launch rod, as well as for use of 5/8 or 3/4 inch wide boards for legs.

NOTE: The V3 launch pad adds a blast deflector, which will save you from destroying grass. However, you MUST print this using supports, and the related cleanup after the print will take a few minutes of effort. Using a tree for critical sections only will provide the best (easiest) results.

There is also a switch box that can be printed to allow for launch control.

Safety caps for the end of the launch rods are also provided.

WARNING: Do not connect to battery if you or anyone is not a safe distance from the launch pad.

The full assembly for the launch pad requires:

 - Three wooden legs, 5/8 or 3/4 inch thickness and about 2 inches wide and 12 inches long. The ends should have a 30 degree cut. - Six 1/4 inch bolts, 1 1/2 inch long - Six 1/4 inch nuts or wing nuts (wing nuts make folding easier) - One 1/8 or 3/16 inch launch rod, three feet long (buy at a hardware store) - two alligator clips - wire and connectors - switches and LEDs for the switch box (you can also use a commercially purchased launch control)

The OpenSCAD files are provided for customizations.
