Super PID Case
Super PID Case Version 5
What is this?
This is a case for the Super PID board, a controller used to regulate the speed of a home CNC machine which may not have had that capability.
What does it do?
This case allows you to mount the Super PID inside and secure it with <=4 screws. It has cutouts on the lid for a potentiometer (used for manual speed control) and a large "run switch" (for turning the router on and off). The lid should also be secured to the base with <= 4 screws to prevent it from coming loose during operation.
Other info
I have used the case to control the speed of a CNC machine with no issues. The board is suspended in the case such that the high voltage section cannot make contact with the inside of the board. Touching this portion of the board with your hands should be impossible because the air vents near it are not very large. Regardless, handle it AND THE BOARD with care especially while running.
Print Settings
This case is designed to be 3D printed, and should with no issues. You can orient it however you like, but I did design it with a certain orientation in mind. Print the lid face-down and the base face-up for best results. I printed it in PLA but intend to make a final version out of PETG just in case. I recommend slowing the print down during the air vents by setting a "small features" setting to some value that encompasses the size of the vents.
