Enclosure Box For Cheap 400 Point Breadboards

I created this design over many, many years and never stopped working on it. This particular version is new for 2025 and meant to be used for those typical, super dirt cheap 400 point breadboards from companies like Elegoo et al, found in droves on Amazon. This sports internal tabs to keep the board in place when moved around, ground tieoffs on either end of the board, one hole to mount a common 2.1mm DC power connector, and four holes for four total 3.5mm audio type connectors. The lid mounts to the box via four tapped posts that will neatly accept #4 sheet metal type screws. I use MG Chemicals Super Shield (Nickel metal grounding paint) to shield the insides of these boxes and allow grounding contacts, which works very well even for very high gain amplifier and radio type applications.

I provided two versions of the box itself; one with a fancy, curved bottom and one with a flat bottom. I tried to engineer the curved bottom version so that it wasn't too challenging for most printers, but if you find that it gives you trouble during printing then you can use the flat bottom version which is far more printer friendly.

Note that the two photographs are of an older version. The differences in the 2025 remake are subtle; just a bit more elegance to the curves of the corners and some fixes to the object mesh and geometry.

If you use these for hobby and you present them in any kind of social media type production, please credit me for my hard work making these happen. If you decide to go all the way and claim credit for them, I'll have to have a piece of your ass for the disrespect. Otherwise, have fun, and I hope they help you out in your adventures in DIY electronics!
