Contessa 26 Sailboat Model
This is a 1:24 scale model of the Contessa 26, a small oceangoing sailboat from the 70s that carried Tania Aebi around the world when she was 18.
The project started as a way to test generating boat hulls with the technique I described in https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7044459, but with curved cross sections. plan.jpg is the 3-view I used. I was so pleased with the results I decided to model the rest of the boat and share it here.
I was also trying out Fusion360 Render tool so included a few images from that.
Please let me know in the comments if you'd like more details on how I designed the deck, cabin and cockpit. It was yet more side and top view sketches, then I used the "Intersection Curve" tool to generate 3-D curves for lofting rails.
Anyway, I hope you like it!
Regards,
Bob M
EDIT: June 13, 2025 - I added an alternate .stl for a single piece deck. It seemed like the two piece one I originally printed has a nasty seam just forward of the companionway. This should take care of that and still fit on typical print beds if you tilt it so it prints from the transom. You might want to add a brim and supports might be needed so it doesn't wobble and generate artifacts on the surface.
