6H5 bayonet with working latch mechanism

6H5 bayonet with working latch mechanism.

In this state this particular model is fitted for my 3d-printed AN-94, so the inner diameter of the ring is smaller and the dimensions of the grooves around the latch are a bit different (we are talking about a couple millimetres). I have tried to attach it in this form to an AKM, but, even without the slant brake, it would not fit at the latch. I do not have a AK-74, so I cannot test that. These differences should be fixable with a couple of extrudes/extruded cuts, or, after printing, with some more generous post-processing and/or the glueing in of 0.5-1 mm plates on the respective surfaces.

The blade is secured with two pins; you might need to drill through the printed holes with a 2 mm metal drill to have them well aligned. For the latch mechanism you will need a spring, which is to be put onto the shaft of the button, then this is to be inserted into the body. On the other side, the latch is to be pressed onto the end of the shaft and be secured with a 2 mm pin, while having the button depressed. Here you will also need to drill, be prepared for initial failure because of the thin material in the wall of the latch.
