Knob with magnet for Chamberlain side mount garage door opener lock

I wanted to know the position of the garage door locking mechanism that is used on the Chamberlain side mount garage door opener. I use this status as part of my home automation for security as well as automation of the lights inside my garage. For example, when the status of this lock changes (locked to unlocked or visa versa), I turn on the garage lights for a period of time. This helps when entering the garage to have all of the ceiling lights on instead of just the light that came with the garage door opener.

The knob looks similar to the original knob and mounts the same way but it has an integrated pocket to glue in a small magnet that can then be used to trigger a proximity sensor. In my case, I used an Aqara brand window and door sensor but this should work with any magnetic style proximity sensor.
