Quick-repining follower for the ABUS 72/40 Core

Follower designed to allow repining the lock's bible through the holes in the other side of the barrel. Includes a slot to feed a shim in to ease locking the pins in under the shim, and a guide to keep the channels aligned.

CRITICAL STEP

Be sure to ream out the pin channels with a #40 machinist's bit (98 thou/2.489 mm), and check for pins/springs cleanly pass through before you use it . . . or you're going to have a bad time.

Use:

• Insert pinning core from the back and rotate CCW until the guide stops and the holes align.
• insert the last spring and pin
• press spring/pin stack in with a tool (jeweler's screwdriver or piece of filament)
• push in shim until it taps on the edge of the tool
• gently press on shim while removing tool, taking care to not move the shim into the next channel (check with tool before moving on)
• repeat 5 more times

All that's left is pinning the core, align slots, and press the pinning core and shim back through the barrel. Add the spring clip and install.
