Scary Ghost for Seeds
8/8/2025
Hello,
In an effort to make more props for seeds, I have remade the original Scary Ghost to move towards this goal!
It is built such that there is a 2mm wide border along the edges of the pieces to a height of 10mm and the thickness of each piece 6mm. The pieces are quite strong at 6mm. Each part is labeled with an identifier on the front face that is recessed 2mm into the part.
The ghost is about 1373mm tall and 1555mm wide (54" tall and 62" wide).
All the parts will fit on an Ender 5 pro bed.
The ghost holds 363 pixels.
There are a total of 46 pieces. There are two test pieces included to set up your printer and don't attach to the prop.
To avoid splicing around the eyes and face, I do recommend seed pixels with 4" spacing.
I have started releasing "Improved" versions of other props. These props contain the following changes to hopefully make them better and easier to put together.
- The puzzle joiners have been modified to mate better without modification after print or changing slicer settings like "compensation" and "expansion" settings. If you have printed my other older props, please make sure you remove these settings as I suspect there will be issues now with holes being too big!
- I have added 6.5mm holes at various places over the model to allow for mounting using the following standoffs -
https://www.printables.com/model/313905-coro-prop-emt-and-pvc-stand-offs.
These standoffs were recommended by, HAJunkie2022, and work quite well. I used them for the first time this year to mount my Rudy prop in my show. - I have added small holes on either side of the joints to allow using Zip Ties to keep the pieces together, better and without glue! Sure you will have to add zip ties but the holes are made for smaller ties and these are quite cheap!
For this prop specifically:
- I did add some extra supports to the model to hopefully improve the overall integrity. Particularly to the mouth and eyes. Its a big prop and needed more support. I hope the supports don't distract from the overall appearance of the prop.
- For the first time, I have created "tab" for some mounting holes. With the density of the pixels higher, there isn't alot of room to find perfect places for mounting holes. I hope these "tabs" don't distract from the overall appearance of the prop but I thought they would be useful. Let me know!
- The pixels on the face can be close together and maybe difficult to see how pixels flow around the mouth. To help this out, I put in a basic "etch" on the back of M2, M3 and M4 to try to illustrate this. It is very rudimentary but I thought it might help.
Assembly:
Please use the two pictures to see how to put it together. The one with Assembly shows how all the pieces go together.
Printing:
I do recommend you use as 0.4mm nozzle. The small prongs for the holes don't print with wider nozzles.
Thank you for looking at or even attempting to print this. I would be interested in any feedback. I don't anticipate printing this prop for my own use so, if there are any issues please let me know.
Xmodel:
An Xmodel file has been created for this prop. I'm not the best at doing this but I think it will work. It is included in the downloadable files.
Enjoy.
Changes
11/28/2025 - uploaded new STL for M2 and M3 - I noticed there were some extra zip tie holes and removed them.
