IQAudio PI-DAC+ Enclosure - Ventilation and attachment adjustment

Slight remix of IQAudio PI-DAC+ Enclosure by TechRoss.

The original is very well designed and I only did 3 improvements.

Changes

  1. Add ventilation holes to lid.
  2. Make holes for screws bigger to better fit screws coming with the iQAudio DAC.
  3. Make edge over SD card cutout straight for easier print.

My print configuration

My printer is producing sub par quality but functional enough prints.

  • Can be printed without supports, only the round holes for the RCA connectors get slightly bad in the top.
  • Infill 100% to make the lid solid.
  • 0.6 mm nozzle.
  • 0.3 mm layer height.

Installation

  1. Put Raspberry Pi in box but do not push it in place.
  2. Attach spacers to bottom of DAC using included the screws.
  3. Connect DAC to Raspberry Pi.
  4. Push the two devices as one so the audio jacks sticks out of the case and the screw holes align on the bottom.
  5. Screw the last 4 screws from the bottom of the case to secure the devices in place.

Another remix is talking about original screws not being long enough. I suspect they meant that the screw head was to wide to fit the holes in the bottom of the case.
