Swisscard Lite Replacement Body
I went through a couple different Swisscard lites but the body was very brittle plastic, and they would only last a few months abuse in my wallet. So I ended up with a bunch of sets of the components, but no nice way to carry them.
This was a good chance to experiment with filament swapping and a few other handy design choices:
- Set a filament stop halfway through the print so I could place the magnifying lens. Remainder printed around it
- Transparent front face because it was neat, and it stops people saying "You could totally have fit X in there too!"
- Completely unnecessary ruler and protractor on back because a blank back felt wasteful.
- Most used items are the pen and the knife, which were on opposite sides in the original. Now I don't have to remove it from my wallet to get either of those two out.
- Traded the flashlight mechanism for a safety pin, because my phone is a better flashlight and a safety pin is really handy in a lot of situations. (SIM card removal, reset buttons on electronics, and... pinning things together?)
I did find this source for replacement magnifying lenses. Shipping took a minute but they're the only lenses I've found which are the same size as the originals.
I've included the f3d model so you can change the back side text and/or remove the magnifying glass hole, but I warn you this was an early model of mine and the file is a bit of a mess.
