Power Tool Paddle Switch replacement paddle
My neighbor discovered that he was unable to purchase a replacement paddle after breaking the one on his table saw. It was a fun project to duplicate and slightly improve the design.
The image containing STOP of the model I printed is created in ABS, although PLA would probably have been strong enough. The lettering is recessed and was filled with UV resin and white pigment.
The image with the wiring is taken from Amazon, of a relatively low priced switch with the paddle in place. These switches are often integrated in table saws and other power tools. I had considered to produce these paddles to sell, but the cost of shipping alone exceeded the price of the Amazon switch!
Some support will be required on the pivot pins.
I used 0.3 mm layer height for better print speed, as the only contours that are affected are on the back.
Infill can be 15% or lower, as the paddle doesn't have to absorb much impact.
PLA, ABS, PETG or just about anything. I used PETG as it was the only red spool I had on hand.
