elegoo mars magnetic baseplate solution

The following is a small 3D printable piece created to correct a common problem with the Elegoo Mars 2 Pro resin printer. Before this piece was added, the printer made a grinding noise upon startup and had trouble reaching the Z-axis home position correctly. The grinding noise and inability to reach the Z-axis home position were due to a slight offset or mechanical interference in the Z-axis lead screw movement.

The component fits in between the Z-axis carriage and the lead screw to serve as both an alignment spacer and a vibration dampener. It takes the pressure and spreads it out evenly on the lead screw, allows smoother downward motion, and eliminates the grinding noise. After it is installed, the Z-axis moves quietly and smoothly, and the printer can return to the home position without any resistance.

This part is recommended to be printed in PETG or ABS to increase rigidity and heat resistance. The compact design makes it so installation is easy and does not require alteration of either the carriage or motor assembly.
