OSES - The Open Sourced Entertainment System
OSES
The Open Sourced Entertainment System
OSES is a Raspberry Pi powered DIY handheld console that’s designed to be easily assembled, fully customisable, and accessible to makers of all experience levels. Whether you’re a newcomer to the maker community or a seasoned hobbyist, you can create a handheld console that reflects your personality. From the colour of the case, or the components inside, to the software you run on it, everything can be customised.
There are many handheld console projects available; however, all lack polish and documentation. OSES sets itself apart by offering a complete, open-source platform with clear, step-by-step guidance and a focus on accessibility. Its core aim is to provide makers with all the information and resources needed to assemble their own system without the frustration of guesswork or hacky part modification to get it to fit together. The project was built around open sourced ideology, that creation should not be limited by access to expensive tools, software, or technical expertise. Instead, OSES encourages hands-on experimentation, learning, and creativity.
