Summary

Bought a Dspiae Hobby sander. The Stand has a place for the sanding tool, the sanding heads, and the usb cord. I
also designed compartments for each of the 6 different sandpaper grits that came with the tool.

I used normal supports touching build plate. The compartments need support only for the handles.  This design was for a table top or shelf top. There are no holes in the back for a wall mount. However, you can add your own holes and mount it if you desired. I have done this with many holders in the past that were designed for table tops.</p><p>The Initial designed turned out good, however I found 3 problems I was not expecting.   1. The top were the sanding heads are positioned, the original holes were 1 mm to small.   2. The grit trays were off by .5 mm.   3. The Usb cord case was to small.  So  I went back and redid the file and changed the hole size for the sanding heads. I decided not to change the tray size because, after working with the different grit sandpapers, I found it much easier to cut the self stick sandpaper in half. It was not only easier to handle the sandpaper pulling off the tiny grit squares, but now the sandpaper fit the trays with much room to spare.     3. The usb cord holder on top. I designed it trying to be mindful on how much filament the total design was going to use and the time to make it. So, the usb cord holder I tried to save to much and made it way to small. I went back and increased the width and the length and also made it a little more nicer to look at.  The grit numbers on the tray, I used a white paint pen to make them stand out and easier to read. The sanding tool it self slide in its spot real nicely. I love to be organized and keep things together. So many of my designs are organizing designs. </p><p>I like the overall outcome of the base and the grit trays as it will keep everything together and at hand reach when I need to use it.</p></div>

How I Designed This

Dspiae hobby sander

            <div><p>I bought this hobby sander because I am liking Dspaie products. This sander came in its own tin with 8 different heads, usb cord and 2 sheets of each 6 different grits of sandpaper. The tin is nice, but there was nowhere to put the sandpaper. So I designed this stand to hold everything that came with the sander. I used regular PLA, the base took 7- 1/2 hours to print and the  printed a set of 4 trays (3 hours) and then a set of 2 (1- 1/2 hour).</p></div>
