Hercus (Southbend) 9" Lathe Spindle Lock

There is no lock on the Hercus 9" lathe and so many (including myself) resort to using the back gear with the locking pin still engaged to lock the spindle and then break the chuck free. This is not ideal as can break the teeth off the back gear. This lock attaches to the end of the spindle and uses the teeth on the spindle and the forward reversing wheel to lock the gear train.

My chucks are clean and so is my spindle and this removes it fine for all my chucks. But if your chuck is tight, it could strip the teeth.

I print everything in PETG at 38% infill, so thats what I did with this, but I upped the walls to 10 to try and get as much strength as possible.
