Cat Winter Shelter
Cat Shelter Entry Flange is to facilitate dressing up the cut hole of the shelter box. In this case is an ice cooler. The use of an ice cooler (48 quart Igloo) makes it the easiest, fastest and cheapest way to create a winter cat shelter. Seen on the video on YouTube link below. It is a brilliant design and execution. Minimal parts. Durable. Easy to access and clean.

I had an idea to improve the entry hole with a 3D printed flange rather than using tape or similar material; making it more durable. I designed one with a notch to allow passing an electric cord through to power a heat pad.
Assume using an Igloo ice chest, cut a hole 5.7 inch (145mm) diameter. Insert the Flange and secure with the threaded Ring. That's it. Done. Optional are the Feet to level and steady the cooler and the Handle Stop to keep the handle up and away.
See pictures on various stages of the build. The reptile pet heating pad, reflective insulation, coco exterior door mat are optional. Most people will use straw (not hay or blanket or towel) as floor covering to add comfort for the cat.
Warning! :Ice Chest is not waterproof. Need to mitigate water intrusion during rain or sprinkler etc. Waterproof tape (Flex Tape) not duct tape, around the lid is advised. Alternately a large plastic trash bag cut to fit would work as temporary stop gap.
I have a few extra sets I printed; I can give away. Please send me a request and I'll send it plus $5.00 for postage.
