polydryer air exchanger plus led mod
TBH I have no solid idea why I did this. I imagined it, and then I had to have it.
I added trays to the original air 10% exchangers that can hold 8mm wide LED strips. It accommodates two section of 3 led strips (so 6 total) each on the front and on the back exchanger (so 12 LED's total). I built my circuit with a PWM dimmer so I could change the brightness level. Currently I have a separate 12 volt supply, but I plan on adding a buck converter, and a spliter so I can feed it from the Polydryer's 24 volt supply (when I get the parts in) and not have to have yet another power supply kicking around.
I designed the mod so that you could use the same settings you used for the original. You need supports, but you don't need extra supports for my section. If that makes sense.
Update:
Version 2.2 combines the front and back and a housing for the PMW LED dimmer into one print.
I've implemented the 24 volt power splitter, and 24V to 12V buck converter. The Polydryer power supply uses pretty standard "security" power plugs (5.5mm X 2.2mm) they're super cheap and easy to come by because of their use in the security industry. The buck converter that I got from Aliexpress is kind of weird because to make 12 volts you have to have at least 12 volts coming in. That's fine for this application, but I would buy a different model if I were you. And that's why I'm not listing it for you to go and get.
Expect further updates as testing goes on.
