Boarding Cutlass

Ahoy, Mateys! After five years before His Majesty's mast, you decided that two thumbs of grog and the cat 'o nine tails was not the way you wanted life to go. So you set out to join a pirate crew for adventure and fortune...and scurvy...

But now you will need a sword that suits your new and exciting life! So you cobbled together your seven pieces of eight and commissioned a fine blade for plank walking! With a cold iron bell guard to keep the spirits away and to smash in the faces of your mortal foes, and a heavy, short steel blade for fighting below decks, you are ready for whatever the high seas send your way!

This sword was printed in PETG. It is designed around this aluminum bar:

which runs through the pommel, grip and tang.

Not having the bar will make the blade too flimsy for anything other than just static display, in my tests. If that is what you want, you can extend the included tab in your slicer to hold the bottom of the sword together.

The finish was done with a graphite powder rub over white (blade) and black (guard) spray paint.

I would like to circle back around and include a scabbard when I get a chance, so I am labeling it as a work in progress for now.

Good hunting!
