Stackable Monitor Mount Adapter for Dell Stands (Angled)

Stackable Monitor Mount Adapter for Dell Stands

Adapter to stack two monitors vertically using the original Dell stands (no special stand / no extra hardware required).
The top monitor is intentionally tilted forward so it angles down towards you (better viewing angle, less “TN-style” color shift).

Tested setup

  • Dell S2716DG
  • Dell P2717H

Many Dell monitors share one of these two stand/pole styles - I included multiple adapter versions to match them.

Versions

  • no-screw version (recommended): sits tight enough on the lower stand and is static anyway.
  • screw version: optional extra M6 bolt needed to clamp it to the lower stand.

Assembly

  1. Bottom monitor: keep it on its original stand.
  2. Pick the adapter version that matches the lower stand pole shape.
  3. Top monitor stand: remove the base plate from a Dell stand.
  4. Bolt the printed adapter onto that stand using the original base plate screws.
  5. Slide the adapter onto the lower stand (see photos).
  6. Attach both monitors and use the original height + tilt adjustments to position everything.

Print settings

  • Supports required (tree supports worked well for me)
  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm or 0.8 mm
  • Layer height: draft is fine (not very demanding)
  • Infill: ~40%
  • Tolerances are generous → no special tuning needed

Notes / disclaimer

  • Quick-and-dirty design from a few years ago - built for function, not looks.
It sits behind the monitors anyway, and it has worked fine for ~3 years in my setup, so I’m publishing it in case it’s useful to others.

  • Use at your own risk: check fit and stability for your monitor/stand combo, and test it carefully before trusting expensive hardware to it.
