Drill Press Spinner Handle for Bosch PBD40
Upgrade for Bosch PBD40 - Hand Wheel Spinner Handle.
I modified VerbalInsurec_260682's design to make a wheel spinner that fits my Bosch drill press. It is a useful upgrade for the hand wheel that is otherwise difficult to use.
Instead of pausing the print to insert the bearing and then printing around it. my design just drops the bearing into position after the print has finished. The knob plug is glue in place with a little CA glue.
I used PLA for printing this model. I also used supports and a brim for printing.
Assembly:
Place the bearing inside the knob and seat it on the top of the upper half of the spinner mount. A M6 washer will sit on top of the bearing. The M5 bolt is inserted through the bearing and shaft of the upper half. This is intentionally a tight fit. The M6 bolt is then attached to the M6 nut which sits underneath the upper half section. Tightening the M6 bolt will seat the M6 nut into the upper half section. Don't over tighten and risk breaking the PLA. The 2 halves are then mounted onto the hand wheel handle and secured with the 2x M4 bolts and nuts
Please note: In the actual photos of my model, I had to use 40mm M4 bolts as i did not have the correct length (20mm).
Additional material needed:
1x M6 30mm bolt and 1x M6 nut
1x M6 washer
2x M4 20mm bolts and 2x M4 nuts
1x 8mm ABEC 9 bearing (8mm internal diameter).
CA Glue.
Optional: Small piece of rubber for use as a liner or spacer. I did not need to use this with my drill press.
