AMERICIAN FLYER LINK TO KNUCKLE COUPLER ADAPTER
AMERICIAN FLYER LINK TO KNUCKLE COUPLER ADAPTER
I got a request to design this. The person saw another style adapter on the Web, but it was out of their price range.
Knowing there was access to a printer at where they work a message was sent to me and this is what I came up with.
There are four designs basically the same, but the only difference is the way you attach it to the old link coupler.
1) The Snap-On style. Just feed the link pin thru the hole, slide it over and snap it on.
2) The Clip-On style. Just feed the link pin thru the hole, slide it over and attach the clip to lock it on.
3) The Rubber Band style. Just feed the link pin thru the hole, slide it over and use an extra small rubber band to hold it on.
4) The Glue On style. Just feed the link pin thru the hole, slide it over and use the glue of your choice.
Before you install the adapter check the height of the link.
It should be 1/32" from the top of the rail to the bottom of the link.
I made a tool to check this. Take a look at my other models to find it.
Also make sure the link pin is not bent.
I printed them on my QIDIX- PLUS 3 machine at 100% infill.
They worked great. I think the Snap-On one is the best.
Have fun and be safe.
