I tried this design — works very well 👍

In my setup, I replaced the printed jaw pieces with a single layer of heatshrink on the crocodile clips. This gives good grip and helps prevent thin wires from rotating while positioning Dupont/JST terminals.

I also use two crocodile clips, not just one:
– the first clip is used to measure and hold the wire position
– the second clip is used to mark/hold while releasing the first one

This makes the process easier and more repeatable for me.
