USB Type C Panel Mount with Screw Lock
A panel mount USB type C socket with a single screw for a screw locking cable. I could not find a good small panel mount USB type C connector that included a screw lock, so I made my own. This will also work fine with normal (not screw locking) usb C cables.
I have included four versions of the body.
- The parts with strain relief have an extended tab with two holes for a ziptie. You can use this to hold the cable to keep from flexing the solder joints.

- The parts labeled 'short' place the end of the usb C connector flush with the front of the body. This makes the part shorter, but it also means that there will be a gap of ~.1" between the overmold on the USB cable and the body. This may make it tough to engage the screw lock.
- The parts labeled 'long' set back the USB C connector so that the overmold of the USB cable will be roughly flush with the end of the body when the connector is mated.

Notes
- Threads are 3/4-10, so it will need a panel hole of .75-1". Works with panels up to .5" thick.
- Ties both CC pins to ground through 5.1K resistors. This identifies the connector as a downstream device with a VBus voltage of 5V.
- This device is limited to USB 2.0 speeds. The PCB only breaks out the D+ and D- data lines.
- Correctly ties the data lines together, allows USB 2.0 cables to be inserted in either orientation.
- Uses a simple PCB for the connector and termination resistors.
- Can be used for both power and data, or power only.
- The threads may be tight after printing. Run the two parts together a few times and it will loosen up.
