Spoked wheel for FRC robot
This is one of a series of wheel prototypes FRC team 2363 delevoped. This wheel is for a 1/2" hex shaft. It uses 1 1/2" wide tread. When the tread is attached, the OD would be ~4".
The spokes on this wheel are .096" thick and wide. A previous version used .063" spokes, but these spokes were too delicate to survive removal of the support structure. As removed from the printer bed, weight was 87gm. With the external support structure removed (as much as would be removed if there were inner and outer fairings), weight was 66gm. When all support structure was removed, weight was 54gm.
In ReplicatorG software, the wheel goes face down on the bed, and is grown using "full support". This keeps the upper lip of the rim and the spokes properly supported.
This wheel uses the same hub and rim as the "Mag" wheel, from which it was derived.
