IKEA Metod Shelf Hole Drill Guide

The shelf holes are also used to mount door hinges, I had to make a repair which required drilling new holes to mount the hinges. Not able to find a simple easy and quick guide I designed my own. It features 2 locating pins, 1 hole for regular spacing and 2 holes for half spacing for adding in fine custom adjustment to shelf position. The regular pins and single hole are spaced at 50mm centres, the 2 mid point holes are spaced at 25mm. The holes are 5mm dia, the pins are 4.5mm diameter, I may slightly increase the size of the pins as after I sanded off the zseam they did allow a tiny bit of movement in the hole. Having pins at 5mm dia ment removing the guide undamaged was difficult as they fitted too well. The pins are 8mm long and the base of the guide is 5mm deep.
