Makita Rail Right Side Measuring Tape for SP6000
Please, make sure to read the summary and Post-Print instructions first
I know there are measuring options out there for measuring the left side of the rail, but I frequently find myself wanting the right side to have specific measurements.
So I made one that works perfectly with my Makita SP6000 with the default blade cut width of 2.2mm. For other blade widths, it will probably need some adjustments.
If you have different saw blades or maybe a different tool for the same rail guide, let me know. Also if you have ideas how to make this easily adjustable.
Since I wanted this to be as reproducible as possible, I used a Stanley measuring tape since that should be available in places outside of Germany as well. This is not an endorsement or anything, this is actually only my second Stanley product so far.
I used the Stanley Tylon 30-687, though keep in mind, that there seem to be different looking models with that number. I am not sure if all of them have the same size. I used the one with silver in the logo as seen in the pictures. Hopefully your version will work too.
I've added a wall mount that fits two of these since I found it's good to have two measuring points at the same time.
Beware that the tape is auto-retracting and depending on your situation, it might pull your work piece back as well!
