Pavilion Trays – Magnetic Closure Variant

This is an alternative version of the “pavilions” trays and lids, keeping the original design but introducing a different closing mechanism.

This modification was developed after encountering a practical issue: the small snap tabs of the original lids can sometimes break and remain stuck inside the box holes. For this reason, I designed a more robust and maintainable solution.

Features
  • Magnetic closure to hold the lid in place
  • Alignment pins with slight clearance to prevent lateral movement
  • Smooth opening and closing

The pins are not meant for locking, only for positioning.

Specs
  • Magnets: 3×2 mm neodymium
  • Glue: cyanoacrylate (super glue) or epoxy
  • Please follow the magnet orientation shown in the images

Left and right parts are mirror-symmetric with reversed magnet polarity; a non-inverted configuration caused a slight repelling force between boxes
