Reciprocating Arm Fidget Demonstrator
This is essentially a re-mix of a crank model by Adam, but with a few modifications
.
I had a difficult time getting the original Connecting Rod onto the Crank and Arm pins without breaking them. This model solves that by using separate pins, printed lengthwise instead of stacked, and sinking small holes in the Crank and Arm. The pins should fit snugly, but can be permanently installed with the tiniest drop of cyanoacrylate glue (Super Glue, or similar). I have included a pin with both the Crank wheel and Arm files as well as a separate pin file (if you’d like to make the pins a different colour). The orientation of the pins while printing is important to their strength, so the individual print file for them is set up properly. They do require support.
You will also need (2) M3x.50 screws, 10-12mm long. I strongly recommend tapping the mounting holes. They are modelled as threaded, but threads that fine somtimes need a little help.
The collection of simple mechanism models by Adam is wonderful! I highly recommend a look!
