V-Stroke Reciprocating Dual Slide Demonstrator Fidget
This is a simple dual-slide movement demonstrator. This is essentially the same motion the cylinders in a V-configuration, four-stroke engine make.
To build, you will need to print: (1) Base, (1) Thumbwheel, (2) Conrods, (2) Slides, and (3) Pins. I advise printing extra pins, as they are not as stable in printing as the rest of the design.
It will need (1) M3x.5 @ 8mm screw, for which I highly recommend pre-tapping the holes in the base. They're modelled threaded, but threads that fine often need a little help. The pins should fit snugly in the holes but can be helped along with the tiniest drop of cyanoacrylate glue (Super Glue).
Please note that the connecting rods are narrower on one end. The larger end attaches to the slide, the smaller ends go to the crank wheel. One rod goes narrow side down, the other goes narrow side up.
