Gearwrench pass-thru socket set holder

I got a GEARWRENCH 11 Piece Pass Through Adjustable Wrench Set (GWPTAW8) which I really like, so I added a couple pieces. A 3/8" square drive adapter, and an adapter for 1/4" hex and square drive which (I made). So I needed a way to keep it all together in my tool bag.

The socket holder is easy enough, but keeping it all together is no fun. so I decided to use the wrench itself as a lid. I'm using hook and loop cable management ties. They're super cheap just about anywhere. I got these ones for free from something we bought from Birddog. If you buy their video gear they give you 5 for free. We've got tonnes of their products at work so nobody missed a couple. The hook and loop ties are held to the holder by M5 X 6mm screws with M6 washers into M5 heat set inserts. So you need two of all those.

You run one strap up through the pass-thru socket hole on the wrench, and pull nice and tight while laying it flat on the wrench body, then the other end up through the slightly open jaw (nobody takes the time to close them all the way anyway), and lay it nice and tight against the other strap. That holds everything together nice. Some sockets or adapters might rattle around but nothing will fall out.

Now you have storage for the wrench and 12 sockets(-ish). That damned 3/8" adapter has a round lip that's bigger than the rest of the pass-thru so that hole is different (be aware).

I printed mine in PLA with 3 walls and 35% AI infill. It seems sturdy enough. The real hard part is heat set inserting through the holes I put in each end. Have fun!
