Suitable for Spindler & Hoyer, triangular rail, profile rail, optical bench
The operation of a triangular profile rail is the same for most models; essentially, the following basic rules apply:
- Place the slider onto the triangular profile from above.
- Loosen the clamping screw only slightly so that the slider glides smoothly on the bench without any play.
- Slide the slider to the desired position.
- Tighten the clamping screw—just enough so that the slider is held securely.
- Insert the optical element (lens holder, mirror holder, aperture holder, etc.) into the slider’s mounting slot and secure it with the side screw.
- Fine adjustment is performed using the adjustment screws on the respective holder, not on the slider itself.
The height of the optical axis is adapted to the original Spindler & Hoyer mounts, so that the elements are automatically centered.
For lens experiments, the light source is usually set to 0 mm; the lens is then moved according to the desired object distance, and the screen is adjusted until a sharp image is obtained.
