Pinching Hook

Saw one of these hooks and deiced to figure out how it worked.
Because of the pinch action, some precarious and odd things can be put on the hook.

Looked a little bit to see if this style of hook was already out there. I did not find one. Obviously, I need to post my design.

I may make a Mount where it attaches on the side. Think bookcase, Cabinet etc. But that is a project for another time.

8/11/26 Update. Built a few with a different lot of M5 Screws. Found a tolerance issue. Tweaked the Mount to give them more clearance.

Hardware
3x M5x8 Button Head and Nuts.
(Gravity is a cruel mistress. These were added to get the CGs in the correct spots.)
4x 693 bearings
(Again, Gravity is a cruel mistress. Needed lower friction pivots to get it to work.)
2x M3x16 Button Head
1x M3x10 Button Head

Assembly
Prep the hooks.
Install the M5 nuts and screws.
Press fit the bearings.
You need to assemble this as you mount it. Upside, all but one screw will be hidden in the end.
Mount the Right side of the Mount to the wall.
Then the Hooks to the Right mount with the M3x16 screws.
Install the Left side of the mount into the dove tails in the Right side. Helps to close the hooks for this.
Add the remaining M3 screw in the Right side to lock the Left side in place.
