Automatic BabyBjörn Bouncer Rocker – Arduino + Servo

This project is an automatic rocking mechanism I designed for our BabyBjörn bouncer.

The system uses an Arduino Nano and a Futaba S3003 servo motor. Two potentiometers allow the rocking speed and movement range to be adjusted independently. The mechanism is designed to be removable and does not require permanent modification of the bouncer.

The project includes the 3D-printable enclosure, servo spool, bouncer mounting part, potentiometer knobs, Arduino code and wiring information.

I originally tested the project with a smaller hobby servo, but it was not powerful enough. The final prototype uses a Futaba S3003 servo powered by an external 5V 2A supply.

This is the first working version of the project. It works, but there are still two areas I want to improve in a future version: reducing motor noise and improving the mounting system so the bouncer base does not tend to lift during stronger movements.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE:
This is an experimental DIY project, not a certified baby product. Never leave a baby unattended while using it. A bouncer is not intended as a normal or unsupervised sleeping surface. If the baby falls asleep, move them to a safe, flat sleeping surface. Build and use this project entirely at your own risk.
