Humane Mouse Trap

UPDATE:

Well, I’ve successfully caught a few mice with this trap, but yesterday something unexpected happened! Either I caught a little Houdini mouse that somehow managed to escape, or my dog decided to intervene and set it free.

That led me to make an improvement to the design. I’ve updated the trap to incorporate two 8 × 2 mm magnets that securely lock the trap in the down position once triggered. This prevents the trap from lifting back up after the mouse enters, helping ensure our little escape artists stay safely contained until they can be released.

Everyone is always trying to build a better mousetrap! I’m not sure I’ve reinvented the mousetrap, but I do know my fiancé has made it very clear that the “cute little mousies” are not to be harmed. However, eviction is acceptable. So, I designed this humane mousetrap to safely capture our tiny, uninvited guests and make it easy to release them somewhere more appropriate.

This trap features a removable twist-lock cleaning cap with a removable bait cup. The twist lock design keeps the bait cup securely positioned upright while still allowing it to be removed quickly and easily. This makes cleaning the trap and replacing the bait simple and convenient. It also features a convenient storage spot on the base for the top cap.

You can also print additional bait cups, allowing you to prepare different baits ahead of time and quickly swap them out as needed.
