TC1 style Seismometer Sensor

This is a vertical seismometer sensor based on the popular TC1 design.
Neodymium magnets are suspended inside a coil of magnet wire and generate a voltage signal in the coil when physically disturbed.
Instead of winding a custom coil, I used an 8 oz spool of 36 AWG wire with a spool internal diameter of 20mm.
Ten 18x2mm magnets are hanging inside the coil, suspended by a Slinky Junior.
The spring hangs from a printed cap and hangar at the top of an acrylic tube.
At the end of the spring is a ball and socket style assembly to ensure the magnets hang vertically and are not skewed by the attachment angle of the spring spiral.
Nylon hex nuts are contained in a printed ring inside the tube, and the coil is held in place with three printed supports centered by three nylon hex bolts.
Knobs were printed and added to the bolts for easy adjustability.
Below the coil are eight 12x2mm diameter magnets surrounded by a brass sleeve to add an oscillator dampening effect.
The magnetic field generated by eddy currents in the brass counteracts the vertical oscillation which causes it.
(see Lenz's law)
The brass sleeve is inserted onto a printed cradle placed in the bottom of a base that has three legs and leveling feet.
The magnet assembly of printed vertical rods contain short 5mm steel cap screws embedded into the ends, holding everything together.
The signal from the coil is brought out with a twisted pair of stranded wire at one of the legs.
