Neptune 3 Pro MMU 4 color System (3D Chameleon)

English:
You have a Neptune 3 Pro and you would like to print in multicolor with it?
Here is the perfect solution for anyone who enjoys DIY projects.

I tested and improved the system for several months on my NP3Pro, and this is the final version. It works extremely well. The project is also complete—almost turnkey. If anything is missing, just let me know.

The first step is to build the 3D Chameleon and its electronics.
I published all the documentation here → https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7390061

You will also need spool holders, ideally ones that rewind automatically.
Here is a model that works well: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3338467

Next, you can mount the 3D Chameleon on your printer by printing all the required parts.

🔧 Instructions – Hardware

  1. Take a 25 mm Exacto blade and break off a small piece.
  2. Insert the blade piece into the blade holder. You can add glue to make sure it stays in place.
  3. Insert the blade holder into the Bloc_Neptune_3_Pro, then install the ARM using an M4 x 25 mm bolt.
4.Install an elastic band between the ARM and the Bloc_Neptune_3_Pro. Wrap it several times if it is too long.
  4. Install the Bloc_Neptune_3_Pro on the printer head. Remove the two M3 bolts holding the cover, then use the M3 x 20 mm bolts to secure the assembly.
  5. Install the Holder on the Bloc_Neptune_3_Pro using two M4 x 15 mm bolts.
  6. Install the Support_4way on the Holder using an M4 nut.
  7. Install the five PC4‑M10 fittings on the 4‑Way.
  8. Cut a 25 mm piece of PTFE tube and insert it into the output fitting of the 4‑Way.
  9. Install the 4‑Way on the Support_4way and insert the PTFE tube into the Bloc_Neptune_3_Pro using zip ties.
  10. Remove the plastic cap on the right side of the X‑axis (the one holding the tensioner) and install the new printed part.
  11. Remove the plastic cap at the end of the Y‑axis (front of the printer) and install the new support for the 3D Chameleon switch.
  12. Install the switch support and the mounting block using two M4 x 25 mm bolts.
  13. Install the 3D Chameleon switch on its support using two small screws.
  14. Remove your spool holder on top of the printer and install the top_mount_final_version.
  15. Install the 3D Chameleon on the top_mount_final_version.
  16. Cut four PTFE tubes of 520 mm and insert one end into the 3D Chameleon and the other end into the 4‑Way.
  17. You can also install PTFE tubes running from the 3D Chameleon to your spool holders.
  18. Install the electronics enclosure behind the printer screen using the printed support.
  19. Insert your four filaments and slide them down until they are 1" (25 mm) above the “4_Way”.
